Our Story
Grey Matter Family Bicycle Shop was founded by Kyle Claffey in 2014 while he was battling brain cancer. After donating a check from RAMM (Race Across America) to Barrow Neurological Institute, Kyle decided he wanted a way to donate to Barrow more often.
With his love for bicycles, he decided to open a non-profit bicycle shop. Kyle passed away in April of 2014 months before the shop opened. Although he was unable to be there for the opening of the shop, we know he would be proud of the success so far.
GMF Bicycle Shop is a non-profit bicycle shop in which we provide funding for brain cancer research and awareness at Barrow Neurological Institute. We have the sales of new and used bicycles and parts as well as a full service repair shop. GMF also currently has cruiser rentals. “Pedaling our way to a cure.”
