If you're looking for a bike that is a little bit XC and a little bit rock n' roll, look no further than the Hei Hei. Our Race Light 6061 Aluminum frame has been perfectly designed to be fast and strong. A 120mm fork keeps things controlled on the front end while the rear shock provides 100mm of travel and keeps the back end in check. A 12-speed drivetrain is the perfect complement to powerful hydraulic disc brakes and keeps the Hei Hei at the forefront of the most-wanted aluminum XC steeds. KONA 6061 ALUMINUM Kona 7005 and 6061 Aluminum alloys are used extensively throughout our fleet of mountain and asphalt bicycles. A tough, durable, light alloy, both Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides. Much of our 7005/6061 tubing is butted and/or formed, meaning the tubing's wall thickness can be increased or decreased, as well as shaped, so we can fine-tune a particular frame's strength and ride characteristics depending on its intended application. INTERNAL HEADSET Bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible. TAPERED HEAD TUBE More girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder, while providing confident steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going—into the lower headset cup—maximizing bearing durability where it's needed. TUBELESS COMPATIBLE RIMS Tubeless rims allow for tires with more puncture resistance; the ability to run lower tire pressure, which provides better tire grip on the trail; lower rolling resistance; and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems. 12x148mm AXLE 12x142mm, 12x148 and 12x157 rear axle standards provide two major advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides the rear hub and frame with a stiff interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before the rear axle is inserted. For 2017, you'll see the 12x148 Boost standard in the mix. Boost spacing provides more tire clearance at the chainstay yoke, while the rear wheel is stiffer and more durable relative to a 12x142 thru-axle. FUSE INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION The Fuse Independent Suspension is designed to be as lightweight and efficient as possible, oriented specifically for the demands of the modern XC trail rider. Like all of our suspension platforms, the Fuse IS is designed around a single pivot with a predictable leverage ratio for a responsive, snappy feel. Built for our Hei Hei platform, the frame features a seat stay that relies on small degrees of frame flex rather than a pivot at the seat and chainstay junction. The result is an efficient, laterally stiff suspension system that takes weight savings to a new level.

Tough Broski Sliding Dropouts allow you to run single-speed, geared or even hub gears. Rear hub spacing in updated to Boost 148 . If there’s one thing Tom knows, it’s dirt. When he first designed the Ultra he knew it would appeal to riders who demand specific ride characteristics and dirt slaying only he could deliver- and that was in the 1980s! Good design withstands the test of time, and the latest iteration of the Ultra is a prime example. Like its predecessor from 30 years prior, the new Ultra occupies a unique ride space from cross-country riders looking to get rowdy and go big to enduro riders lusting for some all-mountain shredding. Designed around a 120mm travel fork and super stable Boost 148 spacing, most of the fun is in the wheels. Designed to accommodate 29" or 27.5" wheels, the Ultra is highly versatile. Throw on some 29s for some trail-smashing XC riding, or saddle up some 27.5+ for some serious no-holds-barred shredding. The Ultra is a rough and rugged trail master that doesn’t know when to quit. - Compatible with 27.5 x 2.8 and 29 x 2.4 tires - Internal routing for a dropper post - Boost 148x12 rear spacing

Enduro courses. World Cup Downhill courses. It's hard to tell the difference between the two these days. Well, right up until the point when you have to grind your way to the top of the absolute hairball descent-that would be enduro. And that is also where the new Firebird 29 enters the picture-with its speed generating 29er wheels and a penchant for kicking ass. The Firebird 29's big wheels gobble up miles with ease, roll right over the gnar and add insane levels of traction to the mix. But this is no monster truck. The Firebird 29 is a lightweight machine that boasts a poppy, lively feel that long-travel 29ers have never possessed. Until now. Playful Yet Stable The Firebird 29 features a long front center, short chainstays, a low center of gravity and a decidedly slack 65-degree head angle to deliver unmatched stability and handling. Plus, a new flip-chip adjustment system in its upper linkage offers quick and easy geometry fine tuning. Taking a page from the Phoenix DH Carbon's progressive geometry, the Firebird combines some of the longest reach measurements in the sport, with short, 16.96" (431mm) chainstays. The Firebird's long and low geometry gives you increased stability at high speeds and on steep technical challenges, while its short chainstays provide a maneuverable, dynamic ride that makes it easy to put the bike precisely where you want it. The Bomb-Proof Bantam Weight The Firebird 29 has a lot to live up to. On one hand, it needs to withstand repeated pummelings at bike parks and on the toughest trails. It has to be bomb proof. On the other hand, it also needs to be incredibly light-this bike is meant to give you an edge on the climbs. Since a 29er wheelset inherently packs more grams than the same wheelset in a smaller, 27.5 diameter, we knew there couldn't be any fat on the Firebird 29 frame. So, we made it both bomb proof and lean. Thanks to our own hollow-core, high-compression carbon molding process and an exacting combination of composite materials and shapes, we are able to deliver an ultra-light frame that meets the same stringent testing requirements for strength and stiffness as our World Cup downhill bike. Firebird frames weigh in at a mere 7 pounds (3.2kg) while complete bikes tip the scales at sub-30 pounds(13.5kg).

Enduro courses. World Cup Downhill courses. It’s hard to tell the difference between the two these days. Well, right up until the point when you have to grind your way to the top of the absolute hairball descent—that would be enduro. And that is also where the new Firebird 29 enters the picture with its speed generating 29er wheels and a penchant for kicking ass. The Firebird 29’s big wheels gobble up miles with ease, roll right over the gnar and add insane levels of traction to the mix. But this is no monster truck. The Firebird 29 is a lightweight machine that boasts a poppy, lively feel that long-travel 29ers have never possessed. Until now. The Firebird 29 features a bomber, yet ultra-light, full-carbon frame constructed with leading edge carbon fiber materials and Pivot's proprietary molding technology. With its long front-center and short chainstay combination, the Firebird 29 possesses that nimble, snappy feel that tempts you to make bold line choices yet allows you to stay in complete control when you’re warping down trails at World Cup speeds. The dw-link rear suspension enabled Pivot to build a bike that achieves the ultimate in both downhill and climbing performance. The dw-link’s anti-squat and variable wheel travel path traits yield both the square-edge bump absorption of a downhill bike and the crisp pedaling efficiency of a shorter-travel trail bike. The Firebird is compatible with both 29-inch and 27.5-inch wheels without compromise, thanks to the flip-chip and adjustable geometry. Super Boost Plus rear spacing adds stiffness and control, while hassle-free, full-length internal cable routing keeps cables neat and protected. If you want a bike that crushes climbs, slays descents, and rewrites the 29er playbook, the Firebird 29 hits the mark.

Tear Down The Sky The Firebird has one goal – to be the fastest. The fastest Enduro bike for our team riders, the fastest park bike, the fastest way to rail a top-to-bottom mega-descent – no matter whether that descent is in Moab or Morzine. Every aspect of our long travel 29er is tailored toward the pursuit of unbridled velocity, from its progressive, size-specific geometry to the tuned perfection of its dw-Link suspension. Whether you're chasing EWS podium glory or harboring a burning desire to tear down the sky in a supersonic plume of dust, the Firebird is your ticket to pure speed. The DNA of Velocity Modern geometry tailored for aggressive riding lets the Firebird rail at warp speed with battleship stability and laser precision. A relaxed head angle, long reach, and generous wheelbase are the key ingredients of high-speed composure. Balance and responsiveness are brought into the mix via size-specific chainstays and seat tube angles, ensuring that the Firebird remains nimble and responsive at all times, in all conditions. 165mm of ultra-capable dw-link suspension soaks up everything from jumbled moonscapes to massive G-outs and still snaps to attention and climbs with more authority than bikes offering inches less travel. Fast up, fast down. Fast. Not As Sweet As It Looks "Sweet bike, man." It's the ultimate lift-line compliment. In the case of the Firebird, that sweetness is only skin deep. Appearances can be deceptive. When you're coming in way too hot on the wrong side of the safe line, you want a partner with lightning reflexes and the dispassionate calm of a cold blooded killer. The Firebird's Hollow Core carbon construction cleanly disguises its psychotic side with a taut, sturdy, deceptively lightweight frame that calmly gets you out of the most gripped situations, in much the same way that James Bond can get his hands really dirty while keeping his suit perfectly clean. Taking a page from the Phoenix DH Carbon’s progressive geometry, the Firebird combines some of the longest reach measurements in the sport, with short, 16.96” (431mm) chainstays. The Firebird’s long and low geometry gives you increased stability at high speeds and on steep technical challenges, while its short chainstays provide a maneuverable, dynamic ride that makes it easy to put the bike precisely where you want it. The Bomb-Proof Bantam Weight The Firebird 29 has a lot to live up to. On one hand, it needs to withstand repeated pummelings at bike parks and on the toughest trails. It has to be bomb proof. On the other hand, it also needs to be incredibly light—this bike is meant to give you an edge on the climbs. Since a 29er wheelset inherently packs more grams than the same wheelset in a smaller, 27.5 diameter, we knew there couldn‘t be any fat on the Firebird 29 frame.
